her new found revelation

I sat across from Rita as she groaned about her life.

“Why can’t I talk to guys?” she asked.

“I’m a guy,” I responded. “You’re talking to me.”

“That’s true. I’m talking to you.”

“Yes, you are.”

“Because …,” she paused to smile broadly. “Because I don’t want to fuck you.” A light went on in her eyes and she fairly screamed, “because I don’t want to fuck you.” Rita stood and fully wailed, “I don’t want to fuck you!”

“So it seems,” I replied softly, unable to avoid the stares from every side of the bar. I laughed. Rita flitted away to explore her new found revelation.
