a thriving chorus

Wondering myself, isolate as I am, what led me to this frequent ordeal, spending evening after evening away from home, away from my books, away, surrounded by the bustle of humanity, exposing myself to the currents, straining my thoughts in cycles of an endless charade, worn into deep grooves. Shaking my senses hither and fro, I shuffled my paper, turned another page, turning night into a thriving chorus of humanity pressing close by.
