feel the heat

Sometimes I think they’re all crazy, sitting around tables late into the night, sucking on cigarettes, swilling beers, telling tall tales, screaming in anger and explosions of delight, on fire, making excuses, plotting explanations, trying out lies, making new faces, running down lists, comparing plans, filling out gaps in stories of gossip, making eyes across the table, looking for a chance there and then to make some other feel the heat.
